IRC Amendment: Procedures & Timeframes

During the investment process in Vietnam, the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) is a key legal document confirming project information. In practice, there may be cases where the information stated on the IRC does not match the approved investment registration dossier.

This issue has been officially clarified by the National Public Service Portal of Vietnam, operated by the Office of the Government.

When Is Correction of the IRC Required?

According to official guidance, correction of the Investment Registration Certificate applies when:

• The information recorded on the IRC is inconsistent with the approved investment registration dossier;

• The discrepancy results from technical errors or data recording mistakes, not from changes to project content.

Procedure for Correcting the Investment Registration Certificate

Investors may submit a request for correction to the Investment Registration Authority that issued the IRC.

The authority will:

• Review the request and relevant documents;

• Correct the inaccurate information on the Investment Registration Certificate;

• Complete the correction within 03 working days from the date of receiving a valid request.

Processing Time and Legal Effect

• Processing time: Up to 03 working days;

• The corrected IRC remains fully valid and legally effective, reflecting the accurate information of the investment project.

Timely correction of the IRC helps investors:

• Ensure legal consistency of project information;

• Avoid complications in tax, banking, licensing, and compliance procedures;

• Facilitate smooth cooperation with authorities, partners, and financial institutions.
