7 companies recruit more than 2,700 workers from Panko Vina before Tet

As Panko Vina Co., Ltd., a South Korean garment manufacturer located in My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park (Ben Cat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), announced the shutdown of its factory from February 1, 2026 (15th day of the 12th lunar month), seven companies have stepped in to ensure continuous employment for more than 2,700 affected workers ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Background of the Factory Closure

Panko Vina has operated in the garment manufacturing sector for many years. However, following prolonged post-pandemic difficulties and a shortage of new orders, the company decided to cease operations at its Ho Chi Minh City facility.

The factory currently employs 2,706 workers, and the closure shortly before Tet raised concerns over job security and income stability for thousands of families.

Seven Companies Registered to Recruit Panko Vina Workers

According to Mr. Truong Van Phong, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA), a coordination meeting held on December 29, 2025, confirmed strong recruitment commitments from neighboring enterprises.

A total of seven companies have registered to recruit all affected workers, with a combined demand of 3,768 job positions across manufacturing, furniture, electronics, and mechanical industries.

Recruiting Companies Include:

  1. Motomotion Vietnam

  2. Zhigao Furniture Vietnam

  3. New Wide Vietnam

  4. Yazaki EDS Vietnam

  5. Hoa Net – MPB Wood Industry Co., Ltd.

  6. Endo Kondo Vietnam

  7. Da Nu Co., Ltd.

Most of these companies operate factories in industrial parks near My Phuoc 1, allowing workers to maintain reasonable commuting distances.

Recruitment Timeline and Simplified Procedures

Recruitment is scheduled to begin from January 15, 2026, enabling workers to transition directly into new employment after Panko Vina ceases operations.

To facilitate a smooth process, authorities have requested companies to simplify hiring procedures, initially requiring only a citizen identification card, with remaining documents to be completed later.

Notably, companies are encouraged not to discriminate against pregnant workers, those on maternity leave, or older employees.

Significance for Workers and Industrial Stability

This coordinated recruitment effort plays a crucial role in:

  • Ensuring employment continuity before the Lunar New Year

  • Reducing financial and psychological pressure on workers

  • Maintaining labor stability in industrial parks

  • Supporting post-Tet production recovery

Conclusion

The commitment of seven companies to recruit more than 2,700 Panko Vina workers demonstrates effective cooperation between authorities and enterprises. This initiative safeguards workers’ livelihoods while reinforcing industrial stability in the Ho Chi Minh City – former Binh Duong industrial region.
